Celebrate International Women’s Day with an unforgettable evening marking 15 years of WOW – Women of the World. Hosted by WOW Founder Jude Kelly, this one-off event filled with music, thought-provoking conversation and joy will welcome to the stage a host of special guests in a powerful tribute to the incredible achievements of women, girls, and non-binary people across the globe. Whether you’re new to WOW or a long-time supporter, everyone is invited to celebrate the positive changes the world has seen towards gender equity, explore the setbacks, and look to the future together. Legendary activist Angela Davis will be headlining the conversation with Jude Kelly. From being on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list to becoming one of the most sought-after speakers in the world, Davis will discuss love in activism, hope and healing, her love of the blues, and dreams for the future. The evening will also feature the world premiere of a newly commissioned fanfare for the Royal Albert Hall’s organ, performed by organist Anna Lapwood and specially composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge. With more to be announced. Over the past 15 years, WOW has shifted the dial on gender equity building a global movement reaching millions across six continents. WOW has been the catalyst for the launch and success of countless campaigns, supported 1000s of activists to go faster and further and brought previously taboo subjects into the mainstream – always with humour, energy and passion.
