An American artist moves through the stages of grief by speaking to 5 of her fellow citizens about their personal, regional, historical experiences of loss in an attempt to make meaning of her own. In this meta-style, verbatim-inspired, socio-political show, Pieces of Us asks the audience if – in a Western, capitalist, individualist, & politically polarised society where profit, consumption & productivity are valued most – would making room for the universal experiences of loss, hardship, & grief in our culture make for a more peaceful, equitable, & compassionate society?
