About the Show

For free, every weekday at 1pm for 30 minutes, the King’s Head Theatre is streaming a different window into the theatre accessible to everybody: our entire community, from artists to audiences to just Facebook followers, we can stay connected and we can develop together. On Monday, we are joined by Ben Pettitt-Wade from Hijinx, a not-for-profit professional theatre company who cast learning disabled actors in award-winning productions which tour the world. Ben has devised and directed numerous productions for the company; his most recent production, The Flop, was shortlisted for a Total Theatre Award at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. On Tuesday, Stella Wilkie 2020/ award-winner Macadie Amoroso talks about my journey into the arts and experiences as an actor and writer in the industry, how her debut show Blue Beneath My Skin came about, and the trajectory it’s taken since. On Wednesday, sound designer Tingying Dong talks about her approach to interpreting a script/project from a sound design perspective, and some methods she uses to enrich the sound design and therefore to enrich the piece. Ting is a sound designer, composer, and technician from Beijing, she was trained at LAMDA and has since been based in London. Thursday will be a Skills Session with Ita O’Brien and David Thackeray, intimacy consultants. The have developed industry standards for Intimacy on set and promote best practice within the industry. They have worked on numerous high profile productions including SEX EDUCATION and PENNYWORTH and for international broadcasters including Netflix, Warner Bros, Apple TV, Channel 4, Sky and HBO. On Friday, Katie Berglof, Will Irven & Imy Wyatt Corner from Swings and Roundabouts discuss their mission to create community for theatre makers, and look to their future projects within the Covid-landscape and beyond.
