Romeo and Juliet

The story of frustrated young (illegally young in modern terms) love and death and the vendetta between two families in a tight-knit Italian community. One of Shakespeare’s most popular and enduring dramas it has also been re-done as film, ballet, musical (most notably “West Side Story”) and ice spectacular!

Bring a chair, bring a picnic! The HandleBards entertained us last year with a hilarious version of Shakespeare’s As You Like It. This year, they return by popular demand with their ?seriously silly? production of Romeo & Juliet. This all-female, cycling theatre troupe will be pedalling to us with all the necessary set, props and costume in tow. In usual HandleBards style, you can expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter.

Outdoor Theatre. This event takes place at Maumbury Rings – Maumbury Road DT1 1QN
