Hayley Atwell is to star in the UK premiere of Sarah Burgess' New York-set comedy Dry Powder, directed by Anna Ledwich next year.

The rest of the cast for the show includes Aidan McArdle (Secret Theatre, The White Devil) as Rick and Tom Riley (Arcadia, My City) as Seth.

Dry Powder will open at the end of January and stars Atwell as Jenny, one of the partners of a private equity firm, who battles against her co-workers Rick and Seth while trying to make as much money as possible. The piece explores those shaping and skewing the economy.

Atwell's previous theatre credits include The Man of Mode, Major Barbara and Prometheus Bound. The show will be directed by Anna Ledwich and designed by Andrew D Edwards.

Dry Powder runs at Hampstead Theatre from 1 February to 3 March, with previews from 26 January.
