Tina Fey earned the wrath of Lin-Manuel Miranda as she tried to join the cast of her own musical Mean Girls over the weekend.

Starring as guest host on the season finale of SNL, Fey performed alongside Miranda in a pre-recorded video as she tried out to get a lead role in the musical, which was recently nominated for 12 Tony Awards after opening on Broadway earlier this year.

You can watch the skit below, with Miranda unleashing some foul-mouthed language with hilarious results.

The musical has been adapted by Fey with music by her husband Jeff Richmond. In his review for the New York Times, Ben Brantley praised Fey's 'caustic and polite' wit.

The show, which features many of the film's much-loved quotes, has songs including "Meet the Plastics", "Apex Predator" and "Revenge Party". Producer Sonia Friedman recently stated that a West End transfer was more than likely.
