After four years, the spectacular show Walking With Dinosaurs returns to Manchester to wow more people. A team of scientists and international designers have collaborated to produce life-size dinosaurs and a truly spectacular show.

This epic piece takes you on a journey from the Triassic period through to the Cretaceous period and the eventual destruction of these magnificent creatures. Awe-inspiring dinosaurs thunder onto the set and take over, and leave you pinned to your seat. The enthusiasm from the on-hand palaeontologist is infectious as he guides you through the different dinosaurs and time periods with just enough information to keep you hooked without feeling like your being lectured.

The balance of factual information versus time to let the dinosaurs do what they do best is well done, and the dinosaurs are frightening realistic – you get a real sense of what it must have been like amongst them. In this respect, the show truly lives up to it’s title.

A genuine treat for the whole family, this will have little kids, big kids and adults mesmerised, and is done in such a way that even the tiniest of tots won’t be scared as the dinosaurs both fight for survival and tenderly care for their young.

Nor will they find themselves lost in the commentary – this is perfect pitched without being too dumbed down for the kids or too scientific for the adults. My kids (aged 13 and 5) both absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop talking about it afterwards; the only negative is the disappointment when the show finishes and it’s time to leave this magical world behind.

If you’re looking for a night out with a difference, they buy a ticket, turn up and be amazed by this gigantic, Jurassic Park – thriller of a show.
