It’ll premiere in Bath before touring

Theatre Royal Bath Productions and Augusta Productions will present a new production of Present Laughter.
Noël Coward’s celebrated comedy about the temptations and pitfalls of theatrical celebrity will play at Theatre Royal Bath before a national tour.
The piece has been reimagined by actress and playwright Tracy-Ann Oberman, who will star as Geri Essendine. The role, originated on stage by Coward himself, is traditionally played as Garry Essendine, and has not been played by a female lead professionally before.
This production follows Oberman’s take on The Merchant of Venice, where she played Shylock.
Lindsay Posner will direct, with further cast and creative team to be announced.
Present Laughter plays from Wednesday 26 August to Saturday 5 September 2026 in Bath, with tour dates to follow.
