tick, tick…Boom! revival releases production photos

Stop the clocks: Theatr Clwyd has revealed a look at its production of tick, tick… Boom!.

Directed by Kate Wasserberg, it is her first as artistic director of the North Wales theatre and marks the reopening of the venue following its redevelopment.

The musical follows Jon, a composer working a day job while struggling to complete a musical. As he faces pressure from his girlfriend, who wants stability, he must decide whether to continue pursuing his artistic ambitions or take a different path. tick, tick… Boom! was written by Jonathan Larson, the creator of Rent.

Ryan Owen is set to play Jon, Christina Modestou will play Susan and Tarik Frimpong will play Michael.

The set and costume designer is Amy Jane Cook, while the creative team includes Bob Broad as music supervisor and musical director, Lucy Cullingford as choreographer, Katy Morison as lighting designer, and Andrew Johnson as sound designer. Aundrea Fudge serves as voice and accent coach, with Polly Jerrold as casting director and Dena Davies as assistant director. The band features Richard Burden on drums, Maria Rocha on guitar, and Olly Buxton on bass.

The show is currently in previews at the Mold venue.
