The Play That Goes Wrong has extended its run at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End until 31 January 2027. The news marks another milestone for Mischief’s Olivier and Tony Award-winning comedy, which has been running in the West End since 2014.

New Halloween-themed production photos by Matt Crockett have also been released, featuring a new understudy joining the cast for the season.

The current cast of The Play That Goes Wrong includes Izzy Edmunds-Clarke, Jack Hardwick, Robert Jackson, Jonty Peach, Charlotte Scott, Mitesh Soni, Tom Wainwright and Ronnie Yorke, with Winston the dog returning in his role as Winston. Understudies are Alex Blackie, Jake Burgum, Kitty Devlin, Louise Hoare and Ed Shamwana.

The Play That Goes Wrong first opened at the Duchess Theatre in September 2014, following its premiere at the Old Red Lion Theatre.

A relaxed performance of The Play That Goes Wrong will take place on 8 March 2026. The performance will be adjusted for audiences with autism, learning difficulties and other communication needs, with reduced sound levels, minimal darkness in the auditorium and a flexible approach to movement during the show. A touch tour and introduction to the characters will also be available ahead of the performance, bookable through the Nimax Access Team.

Mischief has also launched Learn With Mischief, a free online education programme for secondary schools. The six-lesson resource introduces students to comedy through practical games and exercises used in Mischief’s rehearsal process, exploring physical comedy, improvisation, timing, ensemble play and comic construction.
