The King’s Speech to tour in 2027 – with dates confirmed

The King’s Speech will tour the UK in 2027 following a run at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester.

The production, directed by Loveday Ingram, will play the Barn Theatre from 9 October to 7 November 2026 before embarking on a UK tour, opening at Oxford Playhouse on 13 January 2027. The tour will continue through to the end of June, with a full set of dates below.

Adapted by David Seidler from his Academy Award-winning screenplay, The King’s Speech follows the future King George VI as he seeks the help of Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue to overcome his stammer in the lead-up to a pivotal wartime radio broadcast.

Ingram said: “I am delighted to be invited back to the Barn Theatre to direct The King’s Speech for them this autumn. I love the film and this stage version brings the story to life with huge heart. It is a deeply moving story about human connection, courage and friendship – an intimate story of trust that so poignantly shows that true leadership comes from embracing our humanity, rather than striving for perfection.”

Casting and the full creative team are to be announced.
