
The new revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street has announced its full cast.
The multi-award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler, based on an adaptation by Christopher Bond, follows a barber hell-bent on revenge.
Sweeney Todd will be directed by the Rep’s artistic director Joe Murphy and feature design by Elin Steele, with musical supervision by John Rigby and casting by Abby Galvin.
Set to star will be Ramin Karimloo, taking on the role of the tortured Barber, while joining him is Meow Meow, taking on the role of Mrs Lovett. Olivier Award-winner David Bedella will take on the role of Judge Turpin.
Joining them will be Shem Omari James as Anthony Hope, Jo Stephenson as Johanna, Julius D’Silva as Beadle, Jack Gibson as Tobias Ragg, Florence Andrews as Beggar Woman, Silas Wyatt-Barke as Adolfo Pirelli, with Emily Ivana Hawkins and Hadrian Delacey in the ensemble.
Murphy said: “…I am thrilled that we have assembled such a talented and experienced company. I cannot wait to get into the rehearsal room to work on Sondheim’s darkly comic musical masterpiece.”
Meanwhile, the creative team is completed by Dr John Rigby (musical supervisor and orchestral reduction), Rory Beaton (lighting designer), Kelsh Buckman-Drage (sound designer), Tinovimbanashe Sibanda (movement director), Abby Galvin (casting director), Leo Munby (musical director), Christopher Mundy (associate conductor) and David Gallagher (orchestral management).
The revival will play across the summer from 4 July to 9 August 2026.
