Rufus Hound to star in The Mesmerist

Rufus Hound will star in The Mesmerist, which runs at Watford Palace Theatre from Monday 2 March to Saturday 21 March 2026.

The show draws on Hound’s family history following the death of his estranged grandfather and the discovery of boxes containing journals, props and material connected to a previously unknown career as a magician performing under the name The Mesmerist.

Hound has reconstructed the final magic show his grandfather staged, which was originally performed in full only once, and now presents it on stage.

The Mesmerist reunites Hound with Watford Palace Theatre’s CEO and head of programming Steve Marmion, marking Marmion’s first production since his appointment in 2023

The production forms part of the venue’s spring season and is presented by Watford Palace Theatre, Rufus Hound and DMLK Production in association with Appendix.
