She’s cycling into London!

A stage adaptation of Quentin Blake’s Mrs Armitage on Wheels will arrive early next year.
Directed and adapted by Little Angel Theatre’s artistic director, Samantha Lane, the musical adaptation of the animated TV series Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures will feature puppetry and original live music.
It follows the brilliant inventor Mrs Armitage and her wonderful, yet useful, creations. When she and her dog, Breakspear, set off to visit cousin Angela, she can’t stop thinking of ways to improve her bike!
Lane said “It’s such a joyful, imaginative story – full of heart, humour, and the boundless possibilities of creativity,” adding, “Mrs Armitage’s world is wonderfully eccentric yet deeply human, and I can’t wait to bring her spirit of inventiveness and togetherness to life in a production that celebrates her generosity, resilience, and sheer love of making marvellous things.”
Suitable for ages three plus, Mrs Armitage on Wheels will play at the Southbank Centre from 18 to 21 February 2026.
The full creative team includes Jessie Maryon Davies (music and lyrics), Ryan Dawson Laight (set and costume design), Maia Kirkman-Richards (puppetry design and direction), and Ian Oakley (sound designer). Casting is to be confirmed.
It has been developed in association with Eagle Eye and Little Angel Theatre.
