Paul Nicholls and Chris Fountain to star in Rain Man UK tour 2019 extension

The tour will continue into 2019 with new cast members taking on the two leads

The current UK tour of the stage adaptation of iconic film Rain Man has extended to more venues in 2019 with two new leading cast members announced.

Paul Nicholls (Foxfinder, Vincent in Brixton) and Chris Fountain (The Full Monty,Girlfriends'') will take over the lead roles of Raymond and Charlie Babbit, replacing Mathew Horne and Ed Speleers in the show.

The 2019 run will open at Theatre Royal Bath on 14 January and then continue to Woking, Barnstaple, Malvern, Crawley, Darlington, Clwyd, Southampton, Manchester, High Wycombe, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle and Weston-Super-Mare.

Based on the iconic film starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, Rain Man follows Charlie Babbitt who discovers that his autistic savant brother Raymond has inherited the family fortune. The stage version, adapted by Dan Gordon, first premiered in August and has been touring since.

The production is directed by Jonathan O'Boyle (Aspects of Love) with design by Morgan Large, lighting by Jack Weir and sound by Dan Samson.
