It’s still some four months away, but Norwich is already busy with plans for the next major musical to come to the Theatre Royal. This is the 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables, which will also be seen in Cardiff and Manchester. Confirmed for the cast are John Owen Jones as Jean Valjean, Earl Carpenter as Javert and Gareth Gates as Marius.

The Norwich season runs from 16 February to 20 March. Auditions are being held next month (October) for young performers to play and understudy crucial roles. These are Cosette and Eponine, a non-singing part but also understudy for Cosette – both for the Norwich run – and Gavroche, for all three venues. All three parts will require more than one performer, in order to comply with employment legislation for juveniles.
