ALSO ON TUESDAY, Opera North presents a short season of works at Sadler’s Wells comprising George Gershwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Of Thee I Sing, for two performances only (18 & 21) – and its sequel, Let ‘Em Eat Cake, on 20 & 21. Comedy writer/performer Armando Ianucci and David Sawer’s new opera Skin Deep runs tonight and on 19 February.
ALSO ON TUESDAY, (previews from 12 February) British-Korean writer In-Sook Chappell’s Verity Bargate Award-winning first play This Isn’t Romance premieres at Soho Theatre, where it continues to 7 March.
OPENING THURSDAY, 19 February 2009, acclaimed Talawa Theatre Company presents its new family show Anansi and the Magic Mirror at Hackney Empire, with Kat as Anansi and Tameka Empson as Nana Su, until 7 March.
ALSO ON THURSDAY (previews from 17 February), Lost Theatre Company present Mary O’Malley’s comedy Once a Catholic Upstairs at the Gatehouse, about the trials and tribulations of a group of adolescent schoolgirls in a 1950s convent school. Until 7 March.
