See who’s starring in the new stage tour of Malorie Blackman’s classic

Pilot Theatre has announced the full cast for its revival of Sabrina Mahfouz’s stage adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s Noughts and Crosses. The production opens at Northern Stage, Newcastle (27 February to 7 March) before touring to venues across the UK until 23 May.
The cast features Brianna Douglas as Sephy, Lewis Tidy as Callum, Elexi Walker as Jasmine, Chris Jack as Kamal, Melody Adeniran as Minnie, Emma Keele as Meggie, Daniel Copeland as Ryan and Fintan Hayeck as Jude. The creative team includes director Esther Richardson, designer Simon Kenny, lighting designer Ben Cowens, music and sound by Arun Ghosh and Xana, and video design by Si Cole.
The tour continues to Derby Theatre (10 to 14 March), New Wolsey, Ipswich (17 to 21 March), Birmingham Rep (24 to 28 March), Cambridge Arts Centre (14 to 18 April), The Lowry, Salford (21 to 25 April), Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford (28 April to 2 May), MAST Studio, Southampton (6 to 9 May), Hackney Empire (12 to 14 May) and Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield (19 to 23 May).
Mahfouz’s adaptation is based on Blackman’s first book in the Noughts and Crosses series. The novel has previously been adapted for television by the BBC, with two series airing between 2019 and 2022. The production was originally staged by Pilot Theatre and has been seen by over 79,000 people on tour. It won the UK Theatre Award for Excellence in Touring in 2019.
