Fans of The Little Mermaid and Wicked – unite!

Sea Witch, a new musical, will receive its world premiere with special performances at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The musical is created and conceived by Kristopher Russell and Michael David Glover, with music and lyrics by Segun Fawole and a book by Glover. It is based on Sarah Henning’s novel Sea Witch and is adapted with permission of HarperCollins Publishers. Russell also directs the Drury Lane performances.
Sea Witch is a prequel inspired by The Little Mermaid and reimagines the origins of one of the sea’s villains. The story follows Evie, a witch living in a world where magic is outlawed, whose life becomes intertwined with Annemette, a mermaid with a secret of her own, leading both characters towards a turning point that reshapes their futures.
The cast includes Michelle Visage as Tante Hansa, Jay McGuiness as Iker, Natalie Paris as Evie, Mazz Murray as Queen Charlotte, Amy Di Bartolomeo as Annemette and Natalie Kassanga as Malvina. Choreography is by Dean Lee, with music production by Jeff Nang.

Visage said today: “Joining the production of Sea Witch fills my heart in ways I can barely put into words. To stand on a London stage, in a story this daring and unapologetic, is a dream I hold very close. This production is powerful, fearless, and brimming with talent – and I am deeply honoured to be part of something so magical.”
Paris added: “It’s really special to be able to create a role in a new musical, especially when it is as exciting and dynamic as Sea Witch. I cannot wait to bring this magical show to life alongside an epic cast and team of creatives.”
The production is produced by Russell and Glover Theatrical and Pictures alongside the Nederlander Organization, the Shubert Organization, John Gore Organization and Willette Klausner. Casting is by Peter Noden.
McGuiness concluded: “It’s really exciting working on something new, and especially an amazing fantasy novel being brought to life on stage – I can’t wait to get in the rehearsal room and see what the team brings to life.”
The concerts will take place on Sunday 1 March 2026, with shows at 3pm and 7.30pm, with tickets on sale below.
