Debbie Isitt’s new musical garnered rave reviews when it opened in Birmingham
Debbie Isitt's Nativity! will return for a second UK tour next Christmas.
Based on Isitt's popular festive film series of the same name, the musical sees Coventry teacher Mr Maddens trying to mount a nativity show at his school. WhatsOnStage reviewer Diane Parkes described the piece as "a warm-hearted family show with lively performances, great songs, brilliant sets and lots of cheer and good will."
The play is currently running at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, with Louis Walsh making his stage debut in the piece.
Nativity! will begin its 2018 tour in Coventry (where the play is set) on 23 October, before visiting Liverpool, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Oxford. It will finish its run at the Eventim Apollo from 19 to 31 December. Casting for the 2018 tour is to be announced.
Written and directed by Isitt, the show opened in Birmingham earlier this year before embarking on a UK tour.
Nativity! runs at the Eventim Apollo until 17 December 2017. It will begin its UK tour in Coventry in October 2018.
