Two special events over the coming months

The National Theatre has announced two new special events as part of Indhu Rubasingham’s first season as director.
Musician Wretch 32 will make his National Theatre debut in the Olivier theatre with HOME?, a live adaptation of his album of the same name. Directed by Clint Dyer, the performance takes place on Thursday 23 October at 9pm and will feature special guests, to be revealed in due course.
Wretch 32 explained today: “This moment for me is about more than just a show. It’s a continuation of my commitment to champion the arts and highlight the power of music and performance. Being able to do this with the support of Indhu Rubasingham and in such an iconic space is both a rare opportunity and a real privilege.”
On Friday 19 December at 4.45pm, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen return to the Olivier for an in-conversation event hosted by Jim Carter. The evening will look back at their careers on stage and screen. Dench called the event with McKellen “a wonderful chance to celebrate, reminisce and possibly be a little bit naughty together.” McKellen added that “every time we meet up, I can look forward to love and laughter,” and Carter said it was “a true privilege” to host.
Rubasingham said she wanted the National Theatre to “welcome artists both new to the building as well as celebrate those who have a long connection with our rich history.”
Public booking opens for HOME? at 10am on Friday 12 September and for Judi Dench and Ian McKellen in conversation with Jim Carter at 10am on Friday 19 September.
