Motown the Musical announces West End extension

Motown The Musical has announced it will extend its run at the Shaftesbury Theatre, now booking until 18 February 2017.

A further 200,000 tickets are due to be released for the musical which follows the career of producer and songwriter Berry Gordy and the creation of Motown Records.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, the show features songs such as "My Girl", "What's Going On", "Dancing in the Street", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".

Gordy's label signed artists including Diana Ross and the Supremes, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations.

The production features Lucy St. Louis as Diana Ross and Cedric Neal as Berry Gordy.
