MGCfutures are also offering the chance to work as an assistant director at Mercury Theatre Colchester
Michael Grandage has today announced that the second round of his company's bursary programme is now open for applications.
The programme offers between £500 and £5,000 to theatre makers across the country, from producers funding workshops, to prop makers who need tools, to designers in need of computer software.
This year, a trainee director position will be awarded to one bursary recipient. They will receive the £5,000 bursary and will work as as assistant director on two Made in Colchester productions at the Mercury Theatre Colchester.
The first round of the programme saw 17 people and companies awarded bursaries, ranging from producers to performance poets.
Grandage said: "It’s vital for us as a charity to actively support the next generation of theatre-makers, especially in a time of great financial uncertainty within the arts.
"We’re very proud of the recipients of our inaugural bursaries, who come from a diversity of disciplines across the theatre world. As we open our second round, we look forward to engaging with more brilliant young artists."
Applications close at 12 noon on 12 May. For information on how to apply, click here.
