Macbeth at the National Theatre rehearsals with Rory Kinnear and Anne-Marie Duff

Photos have been released showing the cast of the National Theatre production of Macbeth in rehearsals.

Directed by Rufus Norris, the show stars Rory Kinnear as the Scottish lord who murders his way to power, with Anne-Marie Duff playing his wife Lady Macbeth. The cast also includes Stephen Boxer as Duncan, Patrick O'Kane as Macduff, Kevin Harvey as Banquo, Rakhee Sharma as Fleance, Amaka Okafor as Lady Macduff.

The show is the National Theatre's artistic director Norris' first time directing a Shakespeare play at the venue, and the first time directing Shakespeare in over 25 years. The show will also be broadcast to cinemas across the world on 10 May.

Macbeth has set design by Rae Smith, costume design by Moritz Junge, lighting design by James Farncombe and sound design by Paul Arditti.

The venue also recently announced that its recent production of Follies would return next year.

Macbeth runs at the National Theatre from Macbeth runs at the National Theatre from 6 March to 23 June, with previews from 26 February.
