Choreographer, dancer and TV personality Louie Spence will join Jason Manford in the new UK tour of The Producers.

The tour kicks off in March 2015 and Spence will play Carmen Ghia, Roger De Bris’ flamboyant assistant, until 2 May. He has said he "cannot wait to get into rehearsal and in theatres across the country with The Producers, I’m hugely excited to be part of the company and to be working with such an incredible creative team".

Louie Spence made his West End debut in Bugsy Malone when he was 13 and also performed in the original West End cast of Miss Saigon and Cats. Most recently he has been best known for his television career, with shows including Pineapple Dance Studios.

The story centres on New York producer Max Bialystock, who recruits timid accountant Leo Bloom to help him pull off Broadway's greatest scam. Together they aim to produce the worst show ever and run away to Rio with millions, but they learn that showbusiness can always find a way to kick you in the teeth.

The Producers opens at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley from 6 to 14 March 2015, before visiting venues including Manchester, Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, Glasgow and Dublin.
