Ian Rickson’s production opened at the Harold Pinter Theatre last night
Cast members including Toby Jones, Zoë Wanamaker, Pearl Mackie and Stephen Mangan celebrated the West End opening of Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party last night.
The production marks the 60th anniversary of the play, which originally opened in Cambridge in 1958, transferring to London later that year.
The revival is directed by Ian Rickson (Jerusalem, Mojo), with design by the Quay Brothers, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and music by Stephen Warbeck.
In her four-star review for WhatsOnStage, Sarah Crompton said: "In the confusing days of Brexit Britain, Pinter looks like a prescient prophet, a soothsayer of national doom; his observations of human nature as gripping and relevant as ever."
The Birthday Party runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre until 14 April.
