Further lead casting has been confirmed for the arrival of Kinky Boots in London.

Kinky Boots features a book by Harvey Fierstein and a score by Cyndi Lauper. The production will be directed by Curve’s artistic director Nikolai Foster. Based on the 2005 film, the musical follows Charlie Price, who inherits a struggling shoe factory and teams up with drag performer Lola in an effort to save the business.

In the West End, Johannes Radebe will reprise the role of Lola, which he played on tour, at the London Coliseum.

Revealed today, Matt Cardle will play Charlie Price in Nikolai Foster’s revival.

Cardle said that he was “absolutely over the moon to be joining the cast of Kinky Boots on London’s biggest stage,” adding, “Theatre has been a huge part of my career so far, and leading a cast alongside Johannes Radebe at the London Coliseum is a huge honour.”

About the title, he confirmed, “It is a show I’ve loved for years, so to get the opportunity to step into the role of Charlie Price is a dream come true. Bringing this iconic role to life in the West End is an incredible privilege, and I cannot wait to share this production with audiences.”

Tosh Wanogho-Maud, who is currently starring as Lola in the European leg of the touring production, also joins the cast as Alternate Lola. He will play the role of Lola on all Monday performances from 6 April 2026, and patrons are advised to check the website for more information.
