Katherine Kelly and Tam Mutu join Donmar City of Angels

Full casting has been announced for Josie Rourke’s production, which will also star Peter Polycarpou, and more tickets will be released closer to the time

Full casting has been announced for City of Angels at the Donmar Warehouse, including Katherine Kelly, Tam Mutu and Peter Polycarpou

They join the previously announced Rosalie Craig, Hadley Fraser and Samantha Barks in Josie Rourke's production, which opens on 5 December 2014.

The cast is completed by Nick Cavaliere, Cameron Cuffe, Marc Elliott, Adam Fogerty,
Kadiff Kirwan, Sandra Marvin, Mark Penfold, Jennifer Saayeng, Jo Servi, Rebecca Trehearn and Tim Walton.

Cy Coleman's musical, which premiered on Broadway in 1989, weaves together the tale of a writer trying to get his novel turned into a screenplay and the fictional story of the movie itself. The 1993 London production starred Roger Allam, Haydn Gwynne and Henry Goodman.

Katherine Kelly, who is known for TV roles including Mr Selfridge and Coronation Street has stage credits including She Stoops To Conquer (National Theatre) and Visable (Soho Theatre). She will play the dual roles of Carla Haywood and Alaura Kingsley, according to Baz Bamigboye.

Tam Mutu has played Javert in Les Miserables, and other credits include Love Never Dies and Chess. Peter Polycarpou is currently starring in Guys and Dolls at Chichester Festival Theatre and has other credits including The Magistrate and Love Story.

Over a quarter of tickets for the production have been held back, with more than 550 to go onsale every week, including Barclays Front Row and day tickets.

City of Angels runs at the Donmar Warehouse from 5 December to 7 February 2015.
