Kara Tointon among guests at opening night of Hay Fever

Felicity Kendal stars in the West End transfer of this Noel Coward comedy

The Theatre Royal Bath production of Hay Fever, directed by Lindsay Posner (Speed the Plow, Noises Off), opened at the Duke of York's Theatre last night, with guests including Kara Tointon, Joe McFadden and Lesley Joseph in attendance.

Felicity Kendal plays Noel Coward's eccentric matriarch Judith Bliss and is joined by fellow Bath cast members Simon Shepherd (The Duck House, ITV's Peak Practice) as her husband David and Michael Simkins (Yes, Prime Minister) as Richard Greatham, with Sara Stewart (Heartbreak House, Chichester) as Myra Arundel.

The cast also includes Alice Orr-Ewing (Sorel Bliss), Edward Franklin (Simon Bliss), Celeste Dodwell (Jackie Coryton), Edward Killingback (Sandy Tyrrell) and Mossie Smith (Clara).
