Julius Caesar judged as Shakespeare’s great political thriller opens at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle.

This production finds dark contemporary echoes in modern Africa and is directed by RSC Chief Associate Director Gregory Doran. Gregory’s most recent production include Shakespeare’s ‘lost play’ Cardenio re-imagined, as part of the RSC’s 50th birthday celebrations, as well as his 2008 production of Hamlet.

The play opens it run on 19 July and once again brings the RSC back to it’s North East home.
