John Simm, Susannah Fielding and Samuel Barnett in new National Theatre season

They will join the casts of ”Three Days in the Country” and ”The Beaux’ Stratagem”

John Simm will lead the cast of the National Theatre's production of Three Days in the Country, which opens on 14 July.

Simm is known for numerous stage and screen roles, which include Code of a Killer, The Village, Life on Mars, The Hothouse and Betrayal.

Patrick Marber's new version of Turgenev's A Month in the Country also features in the cast Amanda Drew (Enron, A Streetcar Named Desire, Eastenders), Gawn Grainger (A Small Family Business, Macbeth, The Recruiting Officer) and Cherrelle Skeete (The Amen Corner, And I And Silence).

The comedy runs in the Lyttelton Theatre from 21 July until 21 October.

It has also been announced that Samuel Barnett, Pippa Bennett-Warner and Susannah Fielding will join the company of The Beaux' Stratagem, opening in the Olivier on 26 May, as Aimwell, Dorinda and Mrs Sullen.

Also in the cast are: Esh Alladi, Jamie Beamish, Jane Booker, Cornelius Clarke, Molly Gromadzki, John Hastings, Richard Henders, Lloyd Hutchinson, Chris Kelham, Nicholas Khan, Barbara Kirby, Ana-Maria Maskell, Amy Morgan, Pearce Quigley, Ana-Maria Maskell, Amy Morgan, Mark Rose, Chook Sibtain, Geoffrey Streatfeild (as Archer) and Timothy Watson.

The Restoration comedy will be broadcast as part of NT Live on 3 September.

Further casting has also been announced for Caryl Churchill's Light Shining in Buckinghamshire, opening on 15 April in the Lyttleton Theatre. Joining the previously announced cast will be Leo Bill (soon to play alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet), Elizabeth Chan, Jonathan Dryden Taylor, Daniel Flynn, Nicholas Gleaves, Ash Hunter, Adelle Leonce, Steffan Rhodri, Joseph Rowe and Sargon Yelda.

Joining Chiwetel Ejiofor in Everyman – running in the Olivier from 29 April – will be: Stephen Aintree, Philip Martin Brown, Paul Bullion, Adam Burton, Michelle Butterly, Sharon D Clarke, Dermot Crowley, Kate Duchêne, Amy Griffiths, Nick Holder, Nicholas Karimi, Joshua Lacey, Penny Layden, Ira Mandela Siobhan, Coral Messam, Jeshaiah Murray, Amanda Minihan, Itxaso Moreno, Tumo Reetsang, Kiruna Stamell, Clemmie Sveaas and Joshua Tikare.

Finally, Desperate Housewives's Ricardo Chavira will join the cast of Indhu Rubasingham's production of The Motherf**ker with the Hat, which opens in the Lyttelton on 17 June. The cast also includes Nathalie Armin, Lisa Caruccio Came, Alec Newman, Flor De Liz Perez and Yul Vazquez.
