Guests came to the Almeida last night to celebrate the opening night of The Wild Duck.

Names including Jessica Brown Findlay (who has collaborated with Icke on a number of his productions), Rebecca Frecknall (who directed the upcoming production of Summer and Smoke which is transferring to the West End) and Nadia Fall, artistic director of Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Based on Ibsen's play of the same name, Icke's new version explores truth and love within the context of a family. It runs at the Almeida until 1 December.

In his four-star review of the show, Fergus Morgan said that the show is "brutal, beautiful, and borderline brilliant."
