Actor and comedian Jason Manford will host this year's Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall.

The announcement was made on Twitter as Manford arrived at a special celebration for this year's nominees. Manford's stage credits include playing Pirelli in the revival of Sweeney Todd (alongside Imelda Staunton and Michael Ball), and Caractacus Potts in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

When the nominees were announced on Monday, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child broke the records for most nominations for a play, with 11 nominations.

Tim Minchin's Groundhog Day received eight nominations, and it's been announced that Kenenth Branagh will win the Special Achievement award.

The Olivier Awards will take place this year at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 9 April.
