The National Theatre's River Stage launched with this weekend, with East End cabaret venue The Glory kicking off the month-long festival in fabulous style.

Highlights of the weekend included Jonny Woo's Luxury Hell, Lipsync1000 Allstars, and Big Gay Songbook.

The festival, which is free to the public, takes place throughout the summer and sees different arts and culture organisations take over the outdoor stage one weekend at a time. This year, WhatsOnStage is the festival's media partner.

This weekend will see Manchester venue HOME take over the space with planned events including Bourgeois & Maurice, The Beat Chics and In Bed With My Brother's We Are Ian.
