The pair had previously performed in different productions of the show

Following star Amber Davies’ chest infection and other cast absences, the producers of Legally Blonde tour have taken steps to deliver a concert performance of the show this evening at Milton Keynes Theatre.
As detailed on social media (and subsequently confirmed by the team), two former stars of Legally Blonde will join the tour for a special revised one-night-only event to cover company members.
Jodie Steele, who previously played Margot in the open-air staging of Legally Blonde in Leicestershire in 2015, will take on the role of Paulette for the concert, while Grace Mouat, who played Pilar in the open-air staging at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2022, will play Serena for the evening.
An email from the company to ticket holders described the show as follows: “The Concert Production will be performed by the principal cast and a few special guests, including the full story, acting, and all of the music. While there will be no costume or set changes, audiences can still enjoy the story and songs of Legally Blonde.”
The much-loved musical, which follows a misjudged young woman who overcomes social expectations and becomes a successful Harvard Law School graduate, launched a new tour earlier this year.
With music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and a book by Heather Hach, the musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture of the same name.
It was first seen on Broadway in 2007, with a West End production opening in 2010, where it won four WhatsOnStage Awards and three Olivier Awards. A hit revival subsequently began life at Curve in Leicester, before embarking on a tour. The show was last seen in the UK in the WhatsOnStage Award-winning revival at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2022.
