Matthew Bourne will host the celebration of the late dancer’s life at Sadler’s Wells
The full programme of events staged for Mr Wonderful A Celebration of Jonathan Ollivier's Life in Dance – has been announced.
In addition to extracts from Car Man, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty already announced, ballet superstar Marcelo Gomes – principle at the American Ballet Theater will perform Paganini. Gomes will also give audiences the first chance to see him perform the role of The Swan in Swan Lake.
New Adventures principle dancers Richard Winsor, Sam Archer, Simon Williams and James Leece will also dance in Matthew Bourne's Mr Wonderful.
Michael Clark Company will perform an excerpt from Come, Been and Gone. Ollivier danced with the company between 2011 and 2013.
Drew McOnie will present his piece Shine and there will be an exclusive excerpt from the West End production of Motown The Musical, which opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre in February.
The evening will be hosted by Matthew Bourne and features over 80 performers.
Ollivier was killed in 2015 ahead of a performance of Car Man, in a motorcycle accident. The 38-year-old had been a star performer in several of Bourne's pieces. All ticket income from the event will be placed in charitable trust funds for Ollivier's two young sons.
