The musical, based on the iconic singer, celebrated its first birthday
The hit musical, based on the life of icon Tina Turner, has recently welcomed a new cast lead by Nkeki Obi-Melekwe and Ashley Zhangazha as Tina and Ike. The pair have taken over from Adrienne Warren and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith – the latter won an Olivier Award earlier this month for his portrayal of the troubled musician.
Guests including Eleanor Tomlinson, Jason Isaacs, Adam Garcia, Denise van Outen and Kimberley Walsh were present on the night.
The musical is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. Choreography is from Anthony van Laast, set from Mark Thompson, musical supervision from Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting from Bruno Poet, sound from Nevin Steinberg, projections from Jeff Snugg and orchestrations from Ethan Popp.
