And we're back - 2025 let's go! The Edinburgh Fringe. The Edinburgh International Festival. Everything you need to know from reviews, top shows, musicals, theatre and more.
The duo behind Awkward Productions have revealed their plans to get married in Edinburgh this summer.
Joseph Martin and Linus Karp, who are responsible for productions including Gwyneth Goes Skiing, The Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience Quiz and Game Experience, and Diana: The Untold, Untrue Story, have been together for ten years.
Having shared much of their relationship at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, they’ve decided to tie the knot there this year.
In a social media post, they commented that an “on-stage wedding may be the most ridiculous event we’ve put together so far,” and added that “it’s going to be stupid, romantic (hopefully) and very queer,” as well as featuring some special guests.
The ceremony will take place at the Pleasance Grand on 16 August, and audience members are invited! According to a report by the Scotsman, the event is believed to be the first legal wedding with a paying audience in the festival’s history and the first LGBTQ+ wedding to be staged as part of the official programme.
Martin and Karp will be playing a romantic couple on stage in their new show The Fit Prince just hours later. Their hit Diana: The Untold, Untrue Story is also set to return.
