Classic Spring, Dominic Dromgoole's theatre company, is to return to London next year, it has been announced.

Following the company's season in the West End in 2018, it will stage a double bill of Frankenstein and Dracula at Hackney Empire in 2020.

The two productions are both adapted and directed by Dromgoole. The shows will be framed in Regency and Victorian theatre, and will use music, comedy, drama, tableaux and song to tell the two horror stories.

The pieces will run as a double bill between 17 January and 16 February 2020. More details of cast and dates will be released in due course.

Dromgoole was artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe from 2005 to 2016 and since leaving he has set up a film company, releasing films including Simon Amstell's Benjamin and Pond Life. Classic Spring's first season, a series of Oscar Wilde's plays, ran at the Vaudeville Theatre.
