Samuel Beckett’s play returns in a new staging
Douglas Hodge, Mathew Horne, Clive Francis and Selina Cadell will star in a new production of Endgame by Samuel Beckett at the Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath,
Directed by Lindsay Posner, the production centres on Hamm (Hodge), a blind man confined to a chair, and his servant Clov (Horne), who cannot sit. Together they navigate their existence through a ritual of repetition and dependence, while Hamm’s parents, Nagg and Nell (Francis and Cadell), observe from dustbins.
Endgame is one of Beckett’s most enduring works and is considered central to his contribution to 20th-century theatre. Posner returns to the Ustinov following West End runs of Noises Off, A View From The Bridge and The Deep Blue Sea.
The show will run from 4 September to 4 October.
