Dave Willetts has joined the cast of the upcoming revival of the hit musical Aspects of Love.
Willetts, one of the UK’s most critically acclaimed musical stars, will be playing the role of Sir George Dillingham every Monday (a role played by Michael Ball for the rest of the week), starting from 29 May at the Lyric Theatre in London.
Willetts joins a cast that includes Laura Pitt-Pulford as Rose, Jamie Bogyo as Alex, and Danielle de Niese as Giulietta.
Rosemary Ashe, Anthony Cable, Vinny Coyle, Chumisa Dornford-May, Soophia Foroughi, Dickon Gough, Ben Heathcote, Eu Jin Hwang, Daniel Jagusz-Holley, Linda Jarvis, Natasha O’Brien, Joanna O’Hare, Michael Matus and Anna Unwin will also be part of the cast, with Indiana Ashworth, Millie Gubby, and Katie Mitton sharing the role of Young Jenny.
Aspects of Love follows beautiful actress Rose Vibert, played by Pitt-Pulford, who finds herself homeless and penniless after her hoped-for career break play closes early.
The musical is directed by Jonathan Kent, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Don Black and Charles Hart, based on the novel by David Garnett. Set and costume design is by John McFarlane, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound design by Paul Groothius, and video design by Douglas O’Connell. Denni Sayers is responsible for choreography, Nicholas Skilbeck for musical supervision, and Cat Beverbridge for musical direction.
Aspects of Love promises to be a spectacular production, and with Willetts joining the cast, audiences can expect a stellar performance every Monday starting from 29 May. The musical has a press night on 25 May.
