The announcement marks the creation of a new, non-judging role for the show

For this year’s Movie Week (a week on Saturday), the BBC has confirmed that Cynthia Erivo will return to Strictly Come Dancing as the show’s first-ever Guest Mentor.
Erivo, a star of one of last year’s highest-grossing films in the form of Wicked, previously served as a Guest Judge for two weeks in 2021, covering for both Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse.
Her remit will involve coaching the 14 remaining couples in rehearsals to assist them in developing their Movie Week characters. She is also slated to attend the live show, where she will sit alongside the main judges.
The Movie Week results show will also feature a group dance performed by the Strictly Professional Dancers. The routine is themed around Wicked and will be set to the duet “As Long As You’re Mine”.
Erivo will perform the track as her character, Elphaba, opposite Jonathan Bailey’s Fiyero in the upcoming film adaptation of the musical.
