The Coronation Street musical Street of Dreams, which premiered in Manchester last week, has been postponed. The show received poor reviews following its debut at the Manchester Arena on 10 May.
Reckless Entertainment, the show’s producers, have said they are now keen to revisit the production and “further develop ideas” for the UK tour. As a result the existing dates have been re-arranged. New tour dates for Dublin, Belfast and Newcastle will be announced soon.
Some reviews alluded to the fact the show was muddled and was unsure what it was. The host Paul O’Grady was guided through the narrative by Angel of the North – Corrie character Julie Jupp – played by Katy Cavanagh. It also starred Jodie Prenger, Kym Marsh, Kevin Kennedy and Julie Goodyear.
The producers have said that anyone who has already bought a ticket for the original tour dates should contact the venue directly.
The musical was originally scheduled to run in March but was postponed until May and was set to visit Dublin and Newcastle.
