The season includes a world premiere and the theatre’s Edinburgh Fringe offering
Clive Judd has announced his inaugural season as artistic director of the Old Red Lion theatre.
The season begins with the world premiere of Mark Weinman's new play Dyl. The play follows a young oil rig worker who tries to reconcile his past while he's 400 miles away from home. Judd directs the production which opens on 9 May.
John Patrick Shanley’s Danny and the Deep Blue Sea will run at the theatre from 6 June following a run at TheatreN16 last year. Courtney Larkin directs the piece which follows an intense romance between two people in a grubby New York bar.
Mumburger, Sarah Kosar’s play about a family dealing with grief of losing a mother, will open on 27 June and will be directed by Tommo Fowler.
The theatre has also announced a show for this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Good Girl is a coming of age drama written and performed by Naomi Sheldon. It will preview at the Old Red Lion in July before a month-long run at the festival.
