Daniel Evans’ production opens in Chichester next month
Images have been released offering a look into rehearsals for Flowers For Mrs Harris, which opens at Chichester Festival Theatre next month.
Directed by Daniel Evans, the production features a cast including Clare Burt, Laura Pitt-Pulford and Louis Maskell.
They are joined by Joanna Riding, Gary Wilmot, Mark Meadows, Nicola Sloane, Luke Latchman, Claire Machin and Rhona McGregor.
Based on the novel of the same name by Paul Gallico, the show first opened in Sheffield, where it won three UK Theatre Awards including Best Musical. It follows the story of Ada Harris, a woman travelling from post-war London to Paris with an eye for beautiful fashion.
In her review of the show's Sheffield run, Sarah Crompton said the show was a "new British musical that has the courage to focus on the aspirations of an ordinary, middle-aged woman – and turn them into an all-embracing fairy story."
Flowers For Mrs Harris has a book by Rachel Wagstaff and music and lyrics by Richard Taylor. Design is by Lez Brotherston, with musical supervision and direction by Tom Brady, lighting by Mark Henderson, sound by Mike Walker and movement by Naomi Said.
