Mischief’s Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is to be recorded live during its UK tour.

Written by Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, and directed by Matt DiCarlo, the production follows a sell-out West End run and is currently touring venues including Nottingham Theatre Royal, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, King’s Theatre Glasgow and the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, where the tour concludes on 1 March 2026.

Filming is set to take place at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Thursday 5 February at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets for the filmed performances are now on sale, with distribution plans for the recording to be announced at a later date.

The cast features Matt Cavendish as Max, Daniel Fraser as Chris, Sasha Frost as Sandra (with Ashley Tucker joining the company from the Nottingham performances onwards), Chris Leask as Trevor, Lewis as Robert, Jonathan Sayer as Dennis and Greg Tannahill as Jonathan. Nancy Zamit and Dumile Sibanda share the role of Annie. The understudy team includes Alex Bird, Will Bishop, Siobhan Cha Cha, Colm Gleeson and Paige Round.

The production marks the return of the Cornley Amateur Dramatic Society, whose attempt to stage Charles Dickens’ seasonal tale is disrupted by technical problems, casting disputes and organisational mishaps. It was described as “an irresistible Christmas treat” in our review.

DiCarlo reunites with Mischief following his work on The Comedy About Spies, with design by Libby Todd, costumes by Roberto Surace, lighting by David Howe and sound design and composition by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.

Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is produced by Kenny Wax and Stage Presence and presented by arrangement with Mischief Worldwide Ltd. The live capture will be produced by Mischief Screen in collaboration with Emma Keith for The Knighton Group and filmed by Human Eyes.
