A new children’s theatre festival, Perform in the Park, will open at Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury this summer.
Presented by children’s drama company Perform, the six-week festival features four musicals, including two original productions, and runs from 22 July to 28 August.
The line-up includes The Three Billy Goats Gruff, a musical for 2 to 7-year-olds by Richard Brindley and Edward Johnson, and Elephant and Piggie’s We are in a play! for 3 to 8-year-olds, based on Mo Willems book Elephant and Piggie.
Perform’s new Caribbean adventure Mermaids and Pirates will be presented for ages 4 to 11, alongside another original show, The Dream, inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, for 7 to 14 year-olds.
“We are thrilled to launch London’s first ever tailor-made children’s theatre festival,” said Lucy Quick, principal of Perform. “With a diverse programme of entertainment on offer including two brand new musicals, children will not only see some brilliant shows but also enjoy spending time in the park before and after.”
