Cats: The Jellicle Ball will return to New York early next year.
The hit revival was first seen at PAC NYC last summer and was described by our critic as being “the most fun I’ve ever had at an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.”
Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch’s radical reimagination of Webber’s musical, based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T S Eliot, features choreography by Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons.
It immerses audiences in New York Ballroom culture. Last year, we spoke to original cast member, the Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner André De Shields, about the production. You can read that interview here.
Shields will reprise his role as Old Deuteronomy on Broadway.
He’ll be joined by original Off-Broadway cast members, including Jonathan Burke as Mungojerrie, Baby Byrne as Victoria, Tara Lashan Clinkscales, Sydney James Harcourt as Rum Tum Tugger, Dava Huesca as Rumpleteazer, Dudney Joseph Jr as Munkustrap, Junior LaBeija as Gus, Robert “Silk” Mason as Magical Mister Mistoffelees, “Tempress” Chasity Moore as Grizabella, Primo Thee Ballerino as Tumblebrutus, Xavier Reyes as Jennyanydots, Nora Schell as Bustopher Jones, Bebe Nicole Simpson as Demeter, Emma Sofia as Cassandra/Skimbleshanks, Garnet Williams as Bombalurina, and Teddy Wilson Jr as Sillabub. Additional casting will be announced.
The creative team includes Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Qween Jean (costume design), Adam Honoré (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), Brittany Bland (projection
design), Nikiya Mathis (hair and wig design), Josie Kearns (dramaturg and gender consultant), William Waldrop (music supervisor and music director), Cooper Howell and N’yomi Allure Stewart (associate directors), Victor Vazquez and Sujotta R Pace (casting directors), and Cody Renard Richard (production stage manager).
Baseline Theatrical will serve as general managers for Cats: The Jellicle Ball. It is produced on Broadway by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals and
Mike Bosner by arrangement with LW Entertainment.
Previews will begin at the Broadhurst Theatre from 18 March 2026, while an opening is set for 7 April 2026.
General on-sale for tickets will begin on 16 October.
