Casting has been announced for James Graham's new comedy, The Culture – A Farce in Two Acts, which premieres at Hull Truck Theatre in January.

The play, directed by Hull Truck's AD Mark Babych, takes a satirical look at Hull's year in the spotlight. Set in the offices of Hull 2017 on the day of the ceremonial handover to the next UK City of Culture, it looks at the culture behind the culture.

The cast will include Amelia Donkor (What Shadows), Andrew Dunn (The Railway Children), Martin Hyder (Dead Dog in a Suitcase), Jordan Metcalfe (The Hypocrite), Nicola Reynolds (The Rise and Fall of Little Voice) and Matt Sutton (The Hypocrite).

The production will have design by Sophie Phillips, lighting by Adam Foley and sound and AV by Mathew Clowes.

Graham's recent theatre credits include Ink, Labour of Love and Quiz, the coughing-scandal play which recently announced a West End transfer from Chichester Festival Theatre.

The Culture – A Farce in Two Acts runs at Hull Truck Theatre from 26 January to 17 February 2018.
