The four-person comedy version opens at the Tricycle Theatre in November
Full casting has been announced for the Tricycle Theatre run of Patrick Barlowe's comedy four-person adaptation of Ben Hur.
John Hopkins will be joined by Alix Dunmore, Richard Durden and Ben Jones.
The four actors make up the entire cast of the show, which is a truncated comedy version of General Lew Wallace's novel. The play promises fight scenes, a sea battle and a Roman orgy as well as a chariot race with 'real chariots'. It tells of Ben Hur who is forced into slavery and swears to take revenge.
Barlowe wrote the recent West End adaptation of the Olivier Award-winning 'The 39 Steps' which closed in September after nine years.
Tim Carroll directs and Ben and Max Ringham design the sound.
Ben Hur runs from November 19 – Jan 9 at the Tricycle Theatre.
